What are your top 5 Topps RC's of 1987-1992.

The list cannot include anyone that has been linked to or admitted to taking steroids. This excludes Pudge, Bagwell, Jaun Gonzalez, etc.

Here are mine:

1. Greg Maddux 87 Topps Traded
2. Ken Griffey Jr. 89 Topps Traded
3. Randy Johnson 89 Topps (his 89 Traded issue came out later, it's not his RC)
4. Chipper Jones 91 Topps
5. Frank Thomas 90 Topps
Honorable Mention - Barry Larkin 87 Topps

What do you think?

jrchoholic83- Great list, but Thome gets the nod for 1991 with his Bowman RC. After all, Thome got the better of Chipper in a well chronicled minor league game fight. Their great friends now and laugh about that fight.:D

I like Thome as well, but the list is for top 5 Topps Rookie cards. I like the original five minus the Big Unit - I put Glavine there in his place.

Great additions, but I don't think any of them crack the top five (Glavine is close). Pudge, and Bagwell are suspected steroid users. I would put good money down that Garciaparra did them as well, so those 3 are disqualified.

Not sure who you bump, but:

1992 Bowman #302 Mariano Rivera

Not sure if you qualify Bowman as Topps, since I believe it was a Topps product?

There was a thing about this in a Beckett magazine a while back except it was top 60 Topps cards of all time. Excluding steroid users, #5 was 1989 Griffey Jr., #53 was 1987 Greg Maddux, #54 was 1989 Randy Johnson. I think you guys have them pretty well covered. Jason Varitek is another but he is not as high caliber as the others listed.
