Nice work Topps. The Diamond Giveaway was fun, well liked by collectors, and provided them with something of value. So, being that you had a winning idea, the next logical step is of course to scrape it and replace it with something inferior.

Hmmmm I wonder if the "Golden Giveaway" or whatever they are calling it in 2012 Topps Baseball is going to be ****** like this...

I think if they at least gave everyone an "online exclusive" card like the Diamond Die-Cuts this year, with rarer versions and vintage sprinkled in, it could be a successful fun promotion with little cost on their part. I know I would rather have that than a 1988 Calvin Schiraldi card.

I just used mine (I only had 5) but I unlocked 3 coins and a Roger Staubach Superbowl card and and Emmitt Smith Superbowl card

the 'virtual' items are completely and utterly the most pointless thing I've ever seen. The only saving grace is if you can get 45 unique items (of course, not combined, but 45 unique rings, 45 unique jerseys, 45 unique coins, you can trade them for a Joe Namath auto card. Even still...I would gladly have taken some ****** early 90's common cards with the chance of a diamond in the rough over a 'virtual' jersey that I can't even redeem.
