Perhaps the guy expects you to offer 1/2 book and that is why he chose to price this gem at full book. Perhaps he just has no clue whatsoever. Either way, it is laughable...I checked ebay and most Mench autos can be had for less than $5, and those are for NON-FADED autos!

This guy is a "top seller" on COMC? Now I see that he has one of the highest book value portfolios on the site, but does that mean he is a top seller or he had just loaded the site with overpriced items that are not selling? I don't know if the average user can see actual sales for sellers (other than the top 10 "hottest" sellers, which he is not one), so I imagine the title of "top seller" is linked to the amount of items he has for sale, not what he has sold. Note that several sellers with higher BV portfolios actually do have top sales (by BV), but there are a few missing as well, such as this seller.

People can do whatever they want when trying to sell their items, but there just seems to be no shortage of sellers who have missed the boat, so to speak.

I've bought quite a bit of Rice from him...he is a huge seller.

Most of the top guys fall into two categories...the ones that price at what we would consider a discount, and the ones that price near full book and expect offers on everything.

Keep in mind most of these guys are buying ports on top of ports (entire collections) and are pricing as fast as they can...sometimes it is easier just to throw it out there so the inventory is live and adjust pricing later on (or take offers)

Out of the top 25, there are a few sellers I will stay away from because they will not negotiate off their prices at all, others, such as the one above, will negotiate on every deal.

Per the site, he has consigned 209,000 items, and sold 39% of them (107K in BV)

Not sure being in a hurry is a good excuse, but then again I hold myself to higher standards I guess.

Perhaps it is just my experience, but I have yet to find a listing that allowed more than 50% off offers. That may seem like asking a lot to ask for more than 50% off, but when you have overpriced your item by 50-100%, then it really isn't unreasonable. In the case of the Mench, I can't see anyone paying much more than a buck for it, if that. I suspect the best you can do is offer $7.50 for it.

Another example I spotted: There is an item on right now that is priced at $60. There were 9 copies made and most have been selling for $10-20 (I know because I won all but 1 of them). It's a ****** product with no rights to use photos or logos, but I figured I would corner the market on them because of a low print run and terrible design, plus cheap pricing. I'd offer the seller $15, but the system won't accept it. I guess the seller is hoping for $30 or more. Maybe someone will pay his price, but on the open auction market, it hasn't happened yet.
