What's The Deal With This 2011 Topps Ripken Auto Redemption Card ?

Look at Topps buybacks, look at Donruss' recollection collection. Any time a card is 'reissued', people line up to pay big money. Just like 'cut' autos in products, you can usually buy a nice certified auto for significantly less. People need to have the newest, hottest thing to stroke their egos. Those are always dream pulls just for the profit margin

I think this is a case where the redemption card itself is worth more than the card you are redeeming it for. Since the card is redeemed online, some Ripken collector is not only going to get another 82 TT Ripken, they are also getting to add an extremely rare redemption card that names the card as the 12th best Topps card all-time.
