Another great batter, Joe Start, actually has better stats than Fox too but is mysteriously not in the HOF.
Now, Rogers Hornsby is the best 2nd Baseman of all time. I can concede that. But I think Fox is more highly ranked than Morgan. And I fully acknowledge that this may be because I simply do not like Morgan

That's why I didn't mention Sewell initially. He did, however, play some second base. He was mostly a shortstop, and later in his career he played third. Amazing bat control. Only ONE HUNDRED & FOURTEEN K's in his entire major league career! That's amazing! Both Morgan and Fox are great players, and former MVP's. I would still have to rate Morgan ahead of Fox, and I must admit that's because I saw a lot of Morgan. Even late in his career, he found ways to make his teams better and help them win.
My list of greatest 2B:
1.) Rogers Hornsby
2.) Eddie Collins
3.) Nap LaJoie
4.) Charlie Gehringer
5.) Frankie Frisch
Joe Morgan had a career .271 BA and Fox's highest BA he ever had for his entire career was .319 - which is lower than the CAREER averages of the guys on my top 5.

Excellent choices, by the way. However, I think you missed my point, my friend. I never said Morgan was the greatest second baseman, ever, or in the top two, or the top five. He is, however, one of the greatest. He's in the HOF, after all, that defines greatness, yes? I used his example as a comparison to Fox. Morgan wasn't an HOFer before he went to the Reds, but he became one with the Reds, and was one of the biggest reasons they were one of the most dominant teams in the game in the '70's. He hit for high average, power, was terrific with the glove, and often won games with his speed. The reason the middle of that Reds order, with Bench, Foster, and Perez saw so many fastballs was because Morgan was on base. He was constantly distracting pitchers from their game. Fox was a great player, too, but I'd have to rate Morgan above him. It's not all about the lifetime BA or the better bat control. It's about production and helping your team win.
