Here is another one - really cool card and I might bid on that if I knew he didn't have a crazy reserve on it:

I am going to ask him where his appraisal comes from.

EDIT - I sent him a message asking him where he got the appraisal, because the Beckett OPG has it listed at $25.00 - I ws nice...

LOL 950!!!!!!!

I saw they also are selling with NO reserve??? Im more confused then ever:confused:

Is there some sort of dyslexia related to placement of decimal points?

Reminds me of the Monty Python skit about buying a mattress.

His response to my question is:

"we ended up getting the appraisal at all-star cards and gaming. Thanks for stopping in."

Not sure what it means, but...there it is.

The proof is in the pudding. That first item did not sell because the highest bid was $ 9.00. I suspect the same will happen with the other two. Note on the second item that "the seller is (conveniently) away until May 27."
They must believe in David Hannum's famous quote.

Lol he told me the Bannister is 80.00 alone.

If I can get 80.00 for a mid line #5 starter Im gonna make millions when I sell my Odallis Perez GU jersey!

Gotta love the line "This item will not have a reserve as we wish to see everyone get a chance to own this wonderful item."

ummmmm, excuse me, there IS a reserve. Easy to understand their low fb and star ratings.

Emailed the seller and their response is precious! Check it out below!

Here is my message to the seller and their reply as to why they priced these cards that way, it is truly precious stuff:

Dear (blocked for privacy reasons),

Before you go throwing accusations, we have contacted OUR appraisal company and they have re-researched the cards and came up with everything correct. We will provide the first bit of information for you since obviously you didn't bother to research it yourself.

As of 2011, the price has doubled. Also since are quite new to Ebay, you may not know but people can put any price on their listing as they see fit regardless of what they are worth. If it sells, it sells, if not it doesn't You accusation of our items only being 5.00 or less are inaccurate and we have contacted Ebay regarding your foul mouth and harassment. Good Day!

Because some people are stupid.

I see alot of "buy it now" at ridiculous prices. All anyone needs to do is type in a few key words that bring that card up, and then look at the "completed listings", to find others that have sold recently (if any).

Now, there is a certain genius to being ignorant, as far as they are concerned. Someone is dumb enough to pay it. I watch the 99 Century Legends Epic Signatures, and I see people "buy it now" at $24.99 on a card that never gets above $10-12 at auction. I've seen people pay $59.99 for an auto that never goes above $22.

The sellers banks on it. They let it coast, never expecting to sell it to someone that knows anything. Then they get a goofy person to overpay, because it is $2-5 less than the other "buy it now" options, and the person doesn't do their homework.
