Why is Yordan Alvarez so underrated?

Seems his stuff is so low. Autos sell nicely but a vast majority of his cards seem way too cheap to me. I get the argument of his age and his DH status, but everybody loves the long ball. Will collectors ever come around?

A Houston Astro.
Not just the pre-trash can saga... but there was not a ton of $$ spent on players like Biggio, Berkman, and Bagwell when they were there too. The team just doesn't have the following and the "cool" factor that a Yankee or Red Sox or Dodger might have.

I don't follow baseball much anymore so I had to look him up. Using collector O.G. (Old Goat) measuremant standards I'd say his career stats are not that great for someone nearing 30 years old. I have been wrong about players who get late starts in MLB getting to the HOF though (ie: Ichiro and Boggs) so you never know how some guys do after they turn 30 (think Warren Spahn).

I was impressed that he has a career batting average of .300!!! I thought that was illegal in today's game? The fact he puts the bat on the ball does givce me hope he could really compile some nice stats in the next decade.
