hey guys,
i purchased a card on ebay and the picture looked great of the card, but once i got the card, the autograph was signed in sharpie and the autograph/sharpie is bleeding" into the card.(there was no way to tell on the photo, you had to actually hold the card in hand to see the bleeding. so my question is too part, one, would you return a card that the sharpie is bleeding, and two, is there anything wrong or any long term problems with cards that start to bleed? (such as will the bleeding spread or the autograph get worse in years to come?) the card is in a psa slab and is signed in blue sharpie. the sharpie ink is starting to have the yellow halo on the edges of the signature. thanks for your help with this. as always, i appreciate your help and thoughts.

It would depend on what it was and how much I paid, I always consider my time involved in anything like this and what I can realistically expect the end result to be.

As far as the sharpie ink is concerned, that is a permanent marker and I've never seen that kind of ink creep after it has dried, so that part you don't have to worry about.....

thanks guys. my biggest concern/worry is that if i keep the card, the autograph bleeding would spread and the autograph would get/look worse over time. anyone knows is once a sharpie bleeds, if it will countine spreading? thanks

I have never seen it spread more on a card, I know sometimes baseballs will continue to bleed or fade, but sharpie spray on a card is generally contained in the cardboard (I am assuming it is an older card.)

Hope that helps, enjoy your purchase!

The only sharpie bleed I've ever had is on the back of a 1986 sportflics card, go figure, it must be made of something different.
