I've got bad news and good news for you. The good news is that the 1972 Bob Lilly #145 is an easy card to get as it is not in the high # series. So you don't need the **** for that card. The bad news is there are 2 Rayfield Wright cards. His RC that you have listed and the All Pro card #266 which is a high #. That one would need the *** if you are chasing that one.

It ends up 6 Cowboys are in that high series which are the cards numbered 264 and higher.. The other 3 are Walt Garrison and 2 John Nilands both his regular card and his All Pro.
Does that look right? I've got 3 '72 Topps listed higher than 264 that I starred.

No longer have the Z Smith. It was sold at a show. It was in a 2 pound block of plastic. It was a display item at a card shop

Here are the 6 1972 High # Cowboys. You are collecting Lilly and Wright and their high # cards are

Rayfield Wright 266 (All Pro), 316 ( RC)
Bob lilly 280 (All Pro)

You mentioned possibly adding Walt Garrison to the list (he just died in October which I just learned! ) his card is #301

The other 2 Cowboy High #s are both of John Niland 268 (All Pro),,329 (RC)

Ok. Do u have a list of your Aikman and Emmitts or do u want to just trade the Hayes '68 for the Bo Jackson RC. Not sure if they're the same value but I'm good to make that trade.

Have these Smiths
