I figured id list this card for sale to get a ballpark figure of the sell value & maybe end the auction early if there wasnt enough interest then relist it with a buy it now option. Bidding was slow at first but has defently picked up in the last 24 hours with another day to go on it.

Are these cards super rare or what? For that kind of money one could buy several 1/1 autos.

Ahhh.....the late 90's 1/1's! If you have a decent player ......not even mentioning a hobby favorite like Tony Gwynn......in a true 1/1 from some sort of late 90's product (Flair Showcase, Topps Gold Label, etc.) you are in for some BIG BUCKS!!!!

Congrats on the sale - I'm certain the bidding is not over! Now, if one of those guys owns the other 2 Gwynn GL 1/1's......he might be willing to pay a couple of grand to finish it out.

I certainly hope the auction goes higher. I was expecting no more then $200.

Those early 1/1's almost always do well. I pulled a Delgado 1/1 from Flair if I remember right and it sold for just shy of $800.00 in late 98.

Thanks
Craig

Even the Class 1 Red serial numbered to 100 books at $30, but the 1 of 1s are nine for each player as they came in all three classes and the three parallel colors (Gold/Black/Red). The Red is a more rare color and Class 3 the more rare photo, so it might be a slight premium over the others even all being 1 of 1s.

how can any 1/1 be more rare than another?

I know I'd prefer a Superfractor to a Platinum, I'm just saying that if Class 3 is a tough pull and Red is a tough pull, that regardless of them all being 1 of 1s I'd just as soon have a Class 3 Red as opposed to a Class 1 Gold.

You're very luck that these two pulled the gloves off early and often...as most of us would agree, you never want to show your interest tooo soon and snipe it at the end.

Yes, TGL from 1998 are cool!

Good luck with the final outcome!!! Cha Ching!

I know what you are saying...it's just sort of odd reasoning in general.

I wish for a true 1/1 they would use different pics on the cards...instead of just using a different color and refraction or whatever...make them really unique.

The older 1/1's are always cool to see when they do surface...kinda run of the mill now, but not back then....you pulled one you felt like you had hit the lotto lol...and in some ways even up to today you had.

Im thinking all the bidding may be done but you never know. I guess those two guys missed the $400 buy it now option after the first bidder threw only $1 on it.

Getting that kind of money....I would make sure to get a Signature Confirmation
congrats on that pending sale...thats great

I was thinking the same thing after reading up on paypals rules on disputes & charge backs. I hope he doesnt pay with a credit card...
