Went to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats game tonight with two in mind: outfielder Eric Campbell and manager Wally Backman. Didn't bring the family because the temps were low and the wind gusts were high. Brutally cold despite the sun. Got there when the gates opened one hour before the game. Waited for about 40 minutes before anyone came out.
First got Eric Campbell. Pulled a 2008 Bowman Prospects printing plate a few years back and had thought of trying to get it signed. Success!
Next Wally Backman emerged from the clubhouse. After he taped the line-up card to the dugout wall, I called him over. He nicely autographed both cards. Great guy!
Finally, I went over to the Fisher Cats bullpen and had Alan Farina sign three cards.
I told my wife when I got back that I believe it was perhaps the coldest baseball game I've ever attended. My toes are still cold...
