Hey guys. I just got back from an autograph signing at Jim & Steve's in Waukegan, IL. Chris Sale was signing there, and he's one of my favorites. I had a cool time. He was nice and the autograph came out great. I also got a second auto for grandpa, who's been a Sox fan for 70 years. Thanks for the view, and sorry for the blurry pic.

Congrats on meeting a favorite and getting that coveted in person auto. Always a great experience.

Now to critique his signature...That has to rank as one of the worst looking autographs of all time. You couldn't tell who signed that if your life depended on it (if you didn't know already). The schools must have stopped teaching penmanship! It seems too many players now days have zero pride in their autographs...it's all business to them. Crank them out fast and make more money!

I agree, I had a great time meeting him, and he's a very nice guy, but his auto isn't great. He did sign it very bold on the ball though, so that's good.

Congrats on the entire experience. It is always nice to meet one of your favorite players and have him turn out to be nice.

The important thing is you had a great time. I'm glad you went! Nice success! I hope Grandpa was thrilled, too! Treasure that moment.

I agree, his penmanship leaves plenty to be desired, and today's players for the most part have sloppy sigs. I miss the old days when players took more pride in their signatures. Reggie Smith, for example, had a sig that was a work of art. Regrettably, those days have come and gone.

Glad to see you had a great day with favor player...and got his auto! Best regards, David

Thanks! It was fun.

Yep, he we really nice. I think it helps since I'm a kid still.

I certainly will. My grandpa couldn't make it, but luckily I got an extra for him. I agree. It seems like a lot of the vintage players had nice sigs. Those are few and far between now.

I am glad that you had the opportunity. It adds to the fun and player/fan experience getting to meet your heroes. You will always cherish the memories.
