Reason #27 that I dislike Panini

So, Ive been waiting for a Baseball autograph redemption of Abraham Toro since early 2019. I dont remember the details anymore but remember it was supposed to be pretty low numbered. I have been trying to get a replacement since all the way back 2021. They ignored every email I sent them. Ignored every request from their website that I sent as well. Fast forward to Monday..... I get a call while at work that I couldnt answer but saw it was from them. They left me a message. When I got home from work I called them back. They go through this whole speech, we care blah blah blah. At the end of the speech I was given an option accept A: 2025 Mosiac football sparkle pack, B; 2025 Prizm basketball sparkle pack or C: Get nothing. Yes, that was actually a choice. Well, I figured a sparkle pack with a possibility of a Cooper Flagg rookie was well worth the effort so I chose B.

So I get an email today that my pack arrived via UPS. I fly home from work, and immediately open the package. Without even looking. First card I see is a Vinny Testaverde #rd 10/96. Crap man. I look at the wrapper and sure enough they sent the Mosiac but as my luck usually runs, it was a 2024 pack anyways. It was a three card pack.

I had no idea Vinny Testeverde played in the NBA! Going from the first pick in the 1987 NFL draft and then nearly 4 decades later playing in the Association.! He makes Bo and Deion look like nobodies. Who knew?

Well the nice thing is at least they listened to you and sent you what THEY wanted. Damn!

A Vinny "Greenballs" card is just a slap in the face.... stick to retail.... at least you KNOW you're gunna get junk 99% of the time! That's my philosophy, at least... lol

Actually, Testaverde means "green head"........Think Testarossa, the car...........One of my favorite cuss words in Italian had to do with "head" and the other part referred to the slang name Richard........Trying to be clean for the kiddies, you know..........

Ahh, man, really? You're talkin' Italian, though... I'm talkin' Spanish. I know Ferrari has a color "Rosso Corsa." So, a Rosso Corsa Testarossa is literally a red redhead? Crazy Itailians... lol... I kid... LOVE LOVE LOVE Ferrari's!!! And Rosso Corsa is about the ONLY color a Ferrari should be... maybe Nero for some models like the 550 Maranello.
Anywho... I'm gunna still call him Vinny Greenballs because it's funny to me.

Now back to bashing Panini... back in 2011 when I was buying boxes and boxes of Crown Royale I ended up with 3 DeMarco Murray Auto/Patch Silhouette redemptions. 2 were numbered to /50 and one was a /10!! I waited 4 or 5 years for those cards because he was a Cowboy... they eventually came. Nice cards, nice autos, but the patches..... ugh! One was 1 color and the other 2 were 2 color patches. I felt cheated on that, so I looked up the /299's on ebay since everyone was getting their redemptions... Those /299's had SICK patches! You could tell some were from his name, some from the sleeve which had white, blue, and silver. Some even had part of the star on the sleeve with white, blue, and silver. I was fairly upset!! Didn't keep a single one because those patches should have been swapped. Ended up selling the /10 and trading the /50's. Later I pulled a Rookie Royalty JSY/AU of Murray I kept and still have...
