Not to mention Jerry Tubbs!!!!

You left out Calvin Hill - great RB on the team that lost to the Colts, then beat Miami in SB V and VI - and father of HOF Grant Hill.

The 80s were kind of 'The Forgotten Decade' for The Cowboys. Between the 70s and 90s when they dominated and had so many big stars...

Pretty much yes. At my old job each department took turns writing the morning meeting report, which included facts of the day and a couple jokes, so every other week, I became the king of the dad jokes... although this case isn't as a bad as when I got a 72 Stargell and McCovey in the same purchase.

I'm pretty sure the bv you have for the Brodie is for the unpunched version. Either way that is a very ool insert set. It even has a Floyd Little which corresponds to his rookie card.

1968 Topps football really picked some players in their poster and stand up sets that were pretty odd including one guy whose last name is very close to mine.

Do you have the Dandy Don Meredith from that set?

I do... have his common card from the '68 set. It's one of my best vintage cards. After seeing that '68 Stand Up I almost went and bought a Meredith for $15. I decided to not do it cuz you usually get what you pay for on vintage cards on ebay (very few cheaper EX cards)... and it booking for $40 I figured there's probably something wrong with the one I almost bought... plus I have many other Cowboys vintage cards I'd like to have rather than that one... 2 of them being of that stud, Jerry Tubbs!!

Very nice! Great buy! You seem to be of the same philosophy as I am buyiing the autograph and not the specific card it is on. I never understood the fascination of the same autograph being on a artifically short printed, low serial numbered card. I'm impressed by the actual autograph. If the same auto is on a low serial #d card that part gets a BFD from me.

I can tell he's starting to be too old to sign anymore... his L's were alot smoother than this one. Can tell he has a shaky hand now. It's not too bad right now but it's only gunna get worse. I hope he decides to stop signing. He had one of my favorite sigs. And speaking of sigs that are bad now... have you seen some of Michael Irvin's recent signatures? They're horrible! He took pride in his signings. At autograph shows he would practice on the table covering between fans coming up... by the end of his signing the table cover was full of M's and I's and half sigs of his. I wonder what happened. Maybe the 20 or so years of signing all those little stickers finally caught up to him. Or maybe he just stopped caring....
