You may be shocked to find out that I have never seen a single episode of "Seinfeld". Because I'm special like that. LOL

However my brother, who is 7 years younger than I am, also thought The Wiz was a fictitional thing from Seinfeld and he grew up watching the same stuff I did, So you were not the only person to believe the Wiz was just a made up Seinfeld thing. Seems like Metsman1986 and I are the only men of culture to know The Wiz was real.

Here is an old commercial for them with the classic The Wiz theme song.

Question. If you took a leak on a Wiz store would that be considered taking a wiz on The Wiz? Inquiring mind wants to know.
That. Is. AWESOME!!! Seeing commercials from other cities is so weird, I bet traveling to the future would kinda feel like that. Like going to a hotel in a different state and all the channels on the TV are back asswords... just a weird feeling.

Here is the other huge advertiser in New York City for electronics and appliances in the 70s and 80s. Crazy Eddie!! If you grew up in that era you'll never forget the constant barrage of ads for The Wiz and Crazy Eddie!! Prices so low thay are INSANE!!!

Here's one from Dallas...

Here's one from Dallas...
WOW!! The first thing I recognized was The Sportatorium. That was the famous, now torn down, home of World Class Championship Wrestling. The story of WCCW and especially the Von Erich Brothers is probably the most stunning, hard to believe story in the history of pro wrestling. And sure enough, they were giving away wrestling tickets in this ad. From selling out Texas Stadium to death and destruction.......talk about "the rise and fall" it was WCCW.

So even though I've never been to Dallas, i know about the Carrolton Mall and the Sportatorium!! I amaze myself sometimes!!

Felt like I was gunna be shanked walking around The Sportatorium... if the Carrollton Mall is still there I'd be shocked. That city used to be more lower middle class but it took a sharp upward turn in household income during the 2000's along with Plano, Frisco, Grapevine, Denton, Lewisville among others north and northwest of Dallas city limits. Most of the cities northeast took another 15 years to boom... and it's still booming. All those cities probably only show Porsche, Audi, and Mercedes commercials now.

Maybe its because they advertised on Yankee Stadium and possibly Shea Stadium outfield walls jn the 90s?? That's howbi knew they were real.

Another WWII veteran... Bulldog had a slightly different service record than most NFL players, especially Footsie Britt, who's card I showed a couple weeks ago. I'll let you guys see what you can find on his time during the war.
