Metsman with a very strong showing today!
1966 Topps started off in a strong fashion with Mays (#1), Mantle (#50), Rose (#30) and Koufax (#100) in its' first 100 cards. Add my favorite player back then, Willie Horton to the mix and that was a really awesome start to a set for me personally.
Just a curiousity question for you. What does the Jim Brown autograph card book for? i wish I had the Harrisons to trade for that but I am curious about that card's value.
Check out Hodee's topic where he is trading football cards for Marvin Harrison cards. The nicest autograph by far is Jim Brown's. Better than Kurt Warner's, Payton Manning's or anyone else's. Who would have ever figured that two of the baddest mother (HUSH YOUR MOUTH) on the planet in Jim...
There was a guy locally that was a big CeeDee Lamb fan and he sent in an autographed card of him to HGA. The auto came back a 10. I looked at it and realized it was a sideways 8 and could not figure how this "autograph" received a 10?? Are there certain distinguishing techniques for writing...
CeeDee Lamb and his sideways 8 signature. LOL
I know I'm always mocking the autographs of today's players as the equivalent of a mark. Well apparently marks are not out of style.! I'm looking at an absentee ballot for current New York State Primaries and where the voter is supposed to...
I thought it may have been the final four teams in the 1997 NFC Playoffs but Washington and Dallas (losers) did not even make the playoffs that year. And they all went to different colleges as well.
I just came back from Wal Mart and the candy bars at the check out line were $2.78! I picked one up and it was about half the size of candy bars were 'back in the day". Talk about a combination of inflation and shrinkflation!!!!
#11 is Burt Hooten, I was wondering who Burt was. There are actually 2 variations of his 1975 Hostesss card where hsi name is spelled Bert and Burt. I doubt I can help you but if I can find my box of Hostess cards I'll cetainly check for these.
I know it was 50 years ago but ticket prices have certainly outpaced inflation over that time period.
1976. The last year of the ABA as well. Why does everything I really, really, really like go out of business? The AFL (1969), the original ECW (2001) and the ABA (1976). Life's hard, then...
A very modest, unassuming person who would never seek atttention and would not name anything after himself? Oh wow! Barry Sanders is going to be on the $250 bill!!! I'm definately getting one!!!
Why is that guy scowling? He's on a $10,000 bill for gosh sake! 10 of those could buy a...
That is ridiculous. I know it is unlicenced but still.
On out of control ticket prices I heard this beauty today. In 1999 to see Game 4 of the NBA Finals in MSG tickets cost $60. Today the same ticket costs $6000. There is inflation and then there is insanity.
Your mom going a little politically incorrect on you I see! LOL
You should have told her you do like collecting pictures of men on paper like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, U..S,. Grant and especially Andrew Jackson and none of them appear on $3 denominations...
