    Take A Guess

Been out of touch for a bit, are these your personal cards or are they part of the YSL Bench charity collection dupes? Sounds like either way, the extras for the site may net some nice additional funds if they are sold off.

    Good win ????? Weird bidding

$15 seems like a good buy for that, if the item is legit. What does the GU disclaimer say on back? It's a very colorful piece. The newer Panini and similar cards w/o the logos and team names are a turn off to a lot of collectors, but others could care less. Lyons is not exactly a...

Who is a player you collect that nobody else probably does?

Depending on how hardcore one goes in for a specific player and how popular that player was, I think the idea that nobody else collects them is unlikely. I also realize that it was probably not meant literally. 1000s of people collect the very best players like Jeter, Griffey, Trout, etc...

Team for Team Insert/parallel trading (You send me Dodgers, I send you your team)

Thought I might try this again. This could be the easiest trading you have ever done if you have a similar mindset as me. I sort out all of my commons and either donate or trade/sell them as bulk. I set aside all of the stuff that wasn't basic pack pulled base cards though in hopes of trading...

To bequeath or not to bequeath. That is the question.

I think that naturally becomes a subject to ponder as we age. I think we all hope that we can collect until we die, perhaps clutching a prized card in your hands as you take your last breath! A little morbid, but for most of us, the thought of getting rid of a collection we built piece by...

    Changes in Beckett's Baseball monthly

I have all of those and multiples of many. Basketball took a major back seat after I stopped buying packs. The last rookie crop I recall busting packs for was lead by maybe Tim Duncan? I know I went back through some boxes of BKB that were not complete junk, but had pockets of stars too. I...

USPS and the Sad Tale of Postage (HORRORS)

Shipping may slowly be killing off the advances made with the internet. It would only be a very slow, prolonged trend and not likely to ever result in death though. Too many people are OK with it. Heck, based on the trends I have seen with recent pricing, people are perfectly fine way...

    August 2021 Show Off Thread

OK, so I am cheating a bit, since mail doesn't come on Sunday. I really got this in July, but if I posted in that thread now, nobody would see it. Now I will either entertain you with some background, or bore the hell out of you. I am mainly baseball. Have always picked up anything sport...

    Changes in Beckett's Baseball monthly

Did you say the base Kobe Topps RC is $600?! That is just stupid pricing. I know in the 2000s, the more current base Topps RCs seemed to go crazy (Curry, James, etc) and I assumed a lot of it had to do with a decease in product production, but don't know for sure. I stopped buying packs in...

    National Report

I went to a local show yesterday and it was my first is probably close to 10 years. Although I enjoyed the in person card time I have been lacking for years, I only spent 2 hours and $65. It was almost exclusively cheapo autographs and a dozen or so $1 GU cards. I ended up with just over 50...

    Changes in Beckett's Baseball monthly

$10 for a monthly? I think I recall that. Have not purchased a printed Beckett periodical in probably 1.5 decades! I recall it going to a quarterly at one point, or am I wrong? I just don't see the value any longer in it. The articles seemed to get worse and the checklists were probably...

    A Nice Card!!!

No doubt a great item. As a purist, I think it is a little (well, lot) crazy that people will pay many times more for something like that than they would for the same T card and the same cut auto as a pair or even separately. Package them up in a new frame, stamp it 1/1 from a card maker and...

COMC! Let see if their shipping has improved or still the same old 50 Plus days!

I am guilty of this, even after all my complaining. I ended up with 3 more cards, due to a s/h refund when I complained about my late order. It was either leave the money alone, buy the cards or give it away somehow. I ended up buying 3 cards, one of which I had been looking for, for quite...

COMC who is it pushing this company?

Well that was a no brainer there. I see they made their rushed option a bit more pricy now, otherwise I'd take that deal and cut my ties.

    Wanted: Dodgers!

I know you sold a bunch on ebay, I won a number of items over time. I was always wondering if you liquidated or if these were duplicates? It seems you are back in the game, either way.

COMC who is it pushing this company?

Craig, I am curious to know what service you paid for to get those 3 cards? I'll have to assume you used some sort of a rushed service? This whole situation has been both frustrating and interesting to watch for me personally. I was involved in what I will call the early stages of waiting...

COMC who is it pushing this company?

I will ask this simply to know, not casting any judgement. Did you know about this BEFORE you ordered? (EDIT: I didn't read the comments and see that you were not aware of the issues when you ordered). If so, why would you have still ordered from them? This is the biggest problem when a...

    The State of The Hobby

I learned this after the 1990s insert craze. I was pretty much done by 99 or 2000. Back then, I was maybe spending $60-80 on a box, which typically still had 24-36 packs. I am guessing a bit, because even then I was buying fewer boxes than say 1994-95. I would chase the stars and inserts...

COMC! Let see if their shipping has improved or still the same old 50 Plus days!

I just saw a post where two guys have been waiting over 6 MONTHS for their COMC site shipments. One was requested 11/30 and the other was right around Dec 10. I suggested that COMC should pay their shipping team unlimited OT to anyone who is willing to work until they catch up. Sure, it will...
