I have a 1998 Topps Tek Card #15 Pattern 23. (Nomar Garciaparra) How do I tell if it is the regular or Diffractor version? I never bought any of these cards before, so I'm not sure. It has a refractor type finish on the front and back. I did scan it, but the finish doesn't really show in the scan...

Thanks
Craig

Craig - I don't understand how you can tell. That one is a different pattern than the card I have. It doesn't look like the refractor finish showed up in that scan either. I don't know...

Thanks
Craig

The diffractor version will have a finish on the front similar to the 98 bowmans best atomic refractor cards

All the base cards have a refractor finish to them

Hope that's helpful

Dan - Ah... So all the base cards have the refractor finish. 99.9% of my collectiong life was as an Andre Dawson Collector only. So if he wasn't in it, I probably don't know much about it.

Thanks
Craig

It's not just a refractor finish, they tried to make a prismatic refraction by putting what looks like refractor half arrows all over the card. Here are two side by side so you can see the difference (base on left, diffractor on right)
