A new way to carry your cards...

Would it be possible to "retro-fit" an old laptop case or maybe one of those old CD cases (that carried 60 CDs)? Maybe better yet would be an old cassette tape case, if you could find one.

Just an idea,
Marvin

If my childhood memory is correct, they had these in the 70s and they (Topps or a partner company) offered it every year. They had labels and dividers so you would put your cards in team sets. I always wanted one but was lucky just to get cards (we had to walk to school without shoes, in the snow, uphill both ways!).

I can't say I've actually seen one after all these years of going to shows.

Does anyone remember these or is it that I was dropped as a child?
:)

I had one of these in the 70s. It was made of cardboard and had separate slots inside to divide your cards into teams. My brother still has his and I am sure it is sitting in my parents storage closet. If I remember correctly, it was white in color with the names of the teams scattered randomly on the outside in blue ink.

I carry my cards with me to card shows.....In my backpack!! Inside the back pack....I have a short card board box....and of course my cards are protected by the plastic top loaders!

I don't have any friends so I just stay at home alone with my cards.

I remember those card holder too. Cheap plastic and vinyl covers with a little twist "hasp" to keep the flaps shut. A card collecting friend (that was when I was young and had friends;) ) kept his cards in 3-4 of those, but I never bought any. I actually wouldn't mind having a nice original one in good shape now though.

This is the closest I could find w/o major effort, but not what I am picturing in my mind. These had double rows with plastic dividers so you could sort by teams.

Thats sorta what i am thinking of too :)

I have a Red Box still sealed from way back then. Never used it. It's called The Sportscard Box. It stores 1200 cards and includes 12 File cards. Made by Continental.

Hey Benchies...

This idea came to me in a dream (not really) , and I really like it, but need some ideas...

Has this ever happened to you? You want to go to a friends house, and you want to bring your cards, but they are all in toploaders? You dont really have a good way of carrying them thats safe, and convient?

I may have a solution....card cases. Basically, what I was thinking is having something that looks like a briefcase, but has dividers (like a monster box) and have a closed top, with a handle on the top of box for easy carrying and so that cards dont slide all over the place.

It would be made of wood so it would be sturdy. Wiegh would depend on size and # of cards.

If this idea has been done before, PLMK. If you think this idea will or wont work, PLMK and why.

I will work on getting a pic tonight.

Thanks all.

get yourself one of those pull behind little suitcase/overnight bags with wheels on it and put your monster box in that...get a couple of velcro straps to keep the monster box shut and you are good to go.
