Hey Benchies...

This idea came to me in a dream (not really) , and I really like it, but need some ideas...

Has this ever happened to you? You want to go to a friends house, and you want to bring your cards, but they are all in toploaders? You dont really have a good way of carrying them thats safe, and convient?

I may have a solution....card cases. Basically, what I was thinking is having something that looks like a briefcase, but has dividers (like a monster box) and have a closed top, with a handle on the top of box for easy carrying and so that cards dont slide all over the place.

It would be made of wood so it would be sturdy. Wiegh would depend on size and # of cards.

If this idea has been done before, PLMK. If you think this idea will or wont work, PLMK and why.

I will work on getting a pic tonight.

Thanks all.

OK... my concern is the weight of the case EMPTY if it is made out of wood. A filled monster box is pretty heavy, no imagine it be wooden.

If my childhood memory is correct, they had these in the 70s and they (Topps or a partner company) offered it every year. They had labels and dividers so you would put your cards in team sets. I always wanted one but was lucky just to get cards (we had to walk to school without shoes, in the snow, uphill both ways!).

I can't say I've actually seen one after all these years of going to shows.

Does anyone remember these or is it that I was dropped as a child?
:)

I used to have a couple of those in the early 80s.....they were like a red color with baseball players all around the case....I actually saw one at a card shop about five years ago or so

Would you happen to have a picture of what they look like?

Was trying to find one...can't.....if you were a kid in the early 80's and collected cards you probably had one....anyways, it probably stood about 20" high...had two doors on the front which had a little latch to close them together....on the inside there were two columns with about 15 sections on each side that would hold 30 cards in each section....whole thing was made of very cheap plastic

That sounds basically what I am trying to make, except for the cheap plastic part of it :)
