Browsing ebay and looking at card collections and i come across this one http://cgi.ebay.com/SPORTS-CARD-COL...0613106856?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item2a0d614ca8 This lazy ebayer copie and pasted my description from a recent auction...I mean its no big deal to me but the dude should at least reword it a bit and put some of his own thoughts into it instead of copying me word for word...I mean he copies tittle and all and even listed it in two categories like i did...Only thing he changed is the number cards and at the end he added there was over 100 game used and autos.

Here is my recent auction that he copied the description from http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180607132518&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT

I would not worry about it. He could have at least corrected the spelling mistakes.

.

Oh I'm not really worried about it..I just don't think a person should copy and paste another persons work for their gain but I'm sure it goes on all the time on ebay...It's just a lazy thing to do...I sent the dude message and told good luck with the details from my recent auction.

LOL, ask him for a royalty. What ticked me off a long time ago was a guy was using my pics all the time. Not just on ebay, but for other sales as well. He was linking directly to my host somehow. Oh well, I don't sweat it anymore, unless they are butts about things.

That used to be rampant on ebay. I had it happen to me once so, the pic they linked to, I changed to a pornographic pic. :D

Atleast he didnt take your cards and re-sell them too :) Were you happy with your $800, or were you expecting more?

I was happy and didn't really expect that good of a sell but a newbie ebayer with zero feedback help jack up the price :)

Be flattered, but it is a rip-off of your creativity

Congratulations is first in order. The seller clearly wants to enjoy the sales success you have with an $800.00 listing.

I learned a few things looking at your listing myself. Your layout, very well done. With your blessing I too would like to try a similar format in my future listings. My two cents worth would be to spell check your listing next time.

Best wishes for continued success in the future!

Steve

Thanks brother...I'm glad it helped you out..I even told the dude that copied it that i was fine with him using some my details but he should have at least put some of his thought into it and not copied me word for word and then i told him good luck with the details...If anyone on here wants to tweak my details a bit and use them that's perfectly fine with me :)

Pretty solid sale of $800, especially in this market.
Congrats- don't sweat it that he used your title, probably researched completed listings and saw yours sold so well and wanted to have the same success.
Congrats!

Well looks like he's doing pretty good with my description but he does have some nice stuff there as well....His auction is $800+ at this time.

Geez, his auction really in high gear, over $1000 with days to go. He has to be very thrilled.

Yea its at $1100 plus right night..Lot better then his last collection auction that just did $167 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...7&si=GctybmEXsmNvR81ZoW9cTk347nw%3D&viewitem=

another one he sold that just brought $123 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...8&si=GctybmEXsmNvR81ZoW9cTk347nw%3D&viewitem=

I see now why he used my details..Just look at how he poorly detailed his last collection sales have been in the links above.

I agree those title's sucked. But the cards also not of the callibur of either your auction or his current one. Im always hesitant to put cards in lots. But I guess if you can get these kinda prices for a small portion of collections. It seems like nice idea. Someone probably hoping to buy it and piece it out. Or to have a great starting collection for the price of a case or 2.

Yea i agree with you now on his current auction..The cards he has now is much better cards then what he sold in past auctions..I think his past auctions could have done better though then what they did if he was better with his details and tittle.

This is the worst case senario with Beckett Marketplace seller and their ebay accounts...95% of images are those of Beckett members who uploaded their pics for Beckett who in turn took it as their property and then let all of their Marketplace users use those images as "stock photos" - many times with the wrong card to boot.
