That is awesome! Boone was one of the best defensive catchers of any generation. Fans today don't realize just how good he was. He did everything so well including protecting the plate...and he did it in a way that minimized injury risk to himself. If you ever get a chance to see Game 5 of the 1980 NLCS replayed on MLB Network you'll see what I mean. Boone successfully blocked two Astros from scoring early in the game with excellently executed plate blocks. Those two runners score and that game doesn't go into extra innings. Houston would have flown it's first NL title flag after that. What an amazing player!
