Conducting a trade --the fairest way?????

Selling a 40 cent card for 40 cents costs the seller more than 40 cents, considering final value fees are assessed on shipping. And that's before I consider what I paid for the card. I'll throw a card away before I do that.

Ebay isn't the best place for super cheap cards, COMC is better, card shows/shops are the best. But then you have to drive there and hope the cards you want are available.

I won't buy from COMC, because they charge $4.99 shipping. I'm not going to pay that per card, when I know shipping one card really only costs one stamp, whatever is the current rate, usually $.60.

I wasn't sure what was the cost of a stamp. I have a bunch of Forever stamps I bought a while ago, when they were $.55. But, still, the point remains COMC charges $4.99 to ship one card. I think that's gouging people.

I use opg but surprised no one has brought up sportslots...you can get a pretty good idea of what commons are going for. But the bigger stuff or vintage i use opg. As far as I'm concerned, the #d to / whatever varies widely...

I don't use opg but do use sportslots primarily. This will give you a good idea of what commons go for. If I can't find it, I go to Ebay and kind of average all the sell prices if I can't find one that is listed in Sold. Even then I kind of average as, sometimes, there are even large discrepancies there. I guess that is when more than one person really wants a card.
