Check out your local Thrift/Flea market, you'll find tons if your lucky, today i bought this box of 5,000 sports cards for $8.50 I could barley lift it. And someone else wasn't the only one there with me. Some man just got into the hobby and was buy a couple of box's. This just goes to show that you never know what you might find at these places.

I hit the flea markets around my area quite often. I bought a box of junk a while back for 10.00. Most of it was junk but there was a 1985 Topps set in mint condition and a 1961 Topps HR Leaders card in there. I have since traded both but I got a lot more than 10.00 in trade for the stuff. I am just waiting for that ultimate find of vintage stuff but I fear that those days may be behind us.

Wish I had the gumption to buy those huge boxes of cards but I have no room for the thousands of 80s and 90s junk that's bound to be in the there. If I was just starting out collecting, then yes I'd jump all over it but at this point my office is pretty much all filled up.

You just never know. Two years ago I went to a yard sale that had a book with around 400 1971 Topps cards in it. They were almost all in vgex to ex condition. The book included Bench, Rose, Munson (one of my favorite cards of all time), Seaver, Carew, B. Robinson, Blevelyn RC, Garvey RC, and a slew of high numbers. Paid $25. I even kind of felt bad and told the old timer selling them as much. I even told him they were worth far more than his asking price. He was good with it. Added some very nice vintage to the collection on the cheap. You just never know. I am still waiting for that big 50's find. :)
