I haven't been graphing for long and I've only met a handful of people in and around professional baseball but Dale Murphy rivals Barry Larkin for the nicest guy in baseball (IMHO).
I think it's possible Dale Murphy is the nicest guy in the world!

If you'd told me as a kid in the late 80s that Dale Murphy wouldn't make the Hall - and in fact, never even came close - I'd have said you were crazy. What a player.
Absolutely agree, not just based on my experience with him but for his contribution to MLB, he belongs in the HOF.
Great stuff Brian, I assume there is a backstory? No ice cream this time?? Glad you got to meet him, and I wholeheartedly agree with the rest of the contributors, he was a fantastic player, who deserves the HOF, especially compared to the caliber of players who went in for a while there. We are in some great years now, but Murphy was a fantastic player. Maybe like Don Mattingly, another great of the era, who will hopefully be recognized someday?

Haha, fair enough! You will meet him again, I am confident, and you can add one more 16x20 (I assume you already have Eric Davis with frozen yogurt cup) over your fireplace! I am sure your wife would be thrilled with that!!
