My first inclination is to say my Lou Gehrig collection, but I am sure if things were tight I would sell it if I had too. the only items I don't think I could part with are my first Jose Canseco rookie (1986 Topps Traded), the other 50 or so of them I have could go though :0 Or my first baseball card, a 1989 Fleer Jose Canseco 40/40 card. Both could be replaced but they are not the ones that have sentimental value. Not much of a story but thought I would share.

I also have no plans to sell my Cuban Baseball cards/memorabilia from the 1930s and 1940s. It is very hard to find that stuff.

Dwayne and Jeff, its fun to hear your memories and stories, and it is crazy how we ascribe sentimental value to cards, but hey, that is EXACTLY why I started this thread, I enjoy hearing these kind of stories! Thanks for sharing guys!

I have a few things one is my Jake Plummer Collection back about 13 years ago I sold my original Plummer collection which had over 1,000 different cards of his many 1/1's and rare autos that I will never get back so about 4 years ago I started it back up and have over 700 different cards some that I had never had before! I will never make that mistake again still kicking myself but looking forward to the challenge of having a Bigger Plummer collection then before!

I guess this was for me, sorry I missed it the first time. I sold my motorcycle because I lost a job 2 weeks after buying a new house back in 2001.

Brian, while that is a tough story, at least you have your priorities straight.....I have known people who put their stuff way before family, bills, responsibilities, etc.! Good for you!
