I will always collect Ryne Sandberg, even though he is now in the Phillies organization. Does that count? :)

Same here with Mattingly just always liked the way he played the game..I still do collecting him and always would have,,Unless he went to Boston that is just a sin lol

I collect Corey Patterson and he's been on many teams!:)
I don't have a current favorite baseball team...that would be the Brooklyn Dodgers, so there won't be a problem as far as that, but Tony Gonzalez was on my favorite football team and was traded.
I continue to collect him so I would say yes to your question.
Perhaps if Gonzalez was traded to a team I don't like I wouldn't collect the new cards, but I would look for his cards from the Chiefs.

Would I still collect Chipper?

Yep. I collect the player, not the team. Besides, the Braves aren't even even the local team for my area. I picked Chipper because I like the way he plays, so the uniform on his back doesn't matter much to me. Although it's not a situation that I will ever have to actually deal with because the Braves are going to keep him until he chooses to retire. :)

Matt Lindstrom is on his 4th team and I still collect him. Started out with the Mets, then went to the Marlins, Astros and now Rockies! But then again, I stopped collecting a TON of Tigers when they left Detroit (D.Young, Dean Palmer, Granderson, Gabe Kapler, Brad Ausmus, Brian Hunter, etc.) Great subject matter!

My problem was the opposite. I did not collect Paul O’neills stuff until he went to the Yankees. It was not until after I joined the Bench and wanted the Super Collector status that I hunted down his Reds stuff… and I am glad I did.

With Don Mattingly and Bernie Williams that was never a problem and so it seems true with Jeter. I still pick up Pettitte and Soriano cards but only in Yankees uniforms. Tino stuff in the middle of his career with the Yanks as well. Until I collect a player who I am fully involved in collecting that starts as a Yankee and then gets traded I will never know, time will tell. I just hope I never get involved with another player like the ones I already mentioned. There is not enough time and money to do so, lol!

I just collect my players in my team's uniform, so if Reyes or Wright got traded, there are still plenty of cards of both of them in Mets uniform that I don't have. I would concentrate on those.

If I pulled one of my players in a different uniform, I would still keep it, but I wouldn't actively pursue them if they were not in a Mets uniform.

Thanks.

If Pujols signs with someone else, I will only collect him in a Cardinals uniform. Now with the "common and no-name players", I collect them in any uniform.

I have my player collections (Durham, Smith and Byrd), and for those I take them on any team. For the other Cubs I collect, I only want them if they're in a Cubs uniform.

Most of the guys I collect bounced around a bit. I like baseball too much in general to bother much with team loyalty. I appreciate a sweet drag bunt single or double steal or home run no matter if it's the team I'm rooting for or the one playing against them. I may not understand why Dave Winfield felt the need to end his career with the Indians, after "coming home" to Minnesota, but I didn't stop following him or collecting his stuff.

Fortunately, Puckett only played for one team, so I don't have to make that type of decision. If he had played for multiple teams, I would have collected all teams, not just Twins stuff.
