Maybe a question to pose.....on the back, it says the card was signed and sent to Upper Deck direct from Stan Musial. Would they have maybe printed and sent more than 1 of the 1of1 cards to Musial to sign and send back? And since he was only required to send back one, did so, and kept the rest? And then this one got signed by his company and put out for sale?

Also, just asking here wideright, does yours have the same back?

I do see the difference in the 1 of 1 text. I also want to throw this out, as I have been doing Stan's autos for a while. The Musial auto you had on the sticker does not look like an auto that Stan would have signed in 2004. It looks more like his autos from 2007 or later, as he got much more shakey. When did you purchase the one you bought off of ebay?

Also, here is a link to one that is serial numbered out of /6, which according to Beckett.com they made, and it isn't a sticker auto - http://cgi.ebay.com/05-UD-ULTIMATE-...0284044713?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item483e5ec9a9

It's exactly the same as yours. I believe I bought my card around 2008-9. And I would agree about his sig on the sticker. Here is my copy of the regular #/6 card. Completely different signature than the sticker auto.

Here's my guess on the whole thing. Someone screwed up on several 1/1s, either on UD's side or the agent who handles each players autograph signings and didn't get the card back to UD. So UD "re-produced" the 1/1 cards thinking the originals had been lost and slapped stickers on them.

Here's my list of platinums that I've seen come through as stickers:

Musial
Brock
Maddux
Brett

There are plenty more platinums that I haven't actually seen surface, so who knows how many dupes are out there.
