Lucky you, you have an LCS and knowing your area you probably have a ton of them.

Did you ever think about making an offer on one or more of those 5,000 count boxes? I used to get tons of great stuff by doing that when our LCS was in business and got quite a bit of vintage that way.

I like that idea, unfortunately there is so much junk in most of them that I would take a bath on it. Plus if I brought home more projects, it might be a problem!

I am however trying to sort out all the vintage that I find and set it up in specific boxes so I know what I have looked at and what I haven't looked at and also make it easier for the next guy looking for vintage.

How valuable are the tri-cards from 80-81??? Topps basketball - found about 25-30 of them while digging. Obviously not the Magic/Bird one, but Moses, etc. prominently featured?

Sort of a last second post as I get ready to head to baseball practice - I get three hours of hanging out at my LCS this evening while my son practices. They have tons of monster boxes filled with vintage to modern and any/all sports and completely unorganized.

I go through every row of every box looking for 69-73 that I need, sometimes I find nothing, sometimes I find a dozen cards - it is just a total roll of the dice. Figure if I am just searching mindlessly - is there anything that anyone is looking for, I would be happy to pull cards, take pics, etc. to try and help others out.
I used to do this at one of the shops in Plano, TX. They were all organized but it was still fun to play hide and seek.
If you find any 90s Cowboys inserts/parallels I will probably be interested! Thanks and have fun!

Will do - they have a 2nd, smaller room that has a bunch of football in monster boxes. Once I exhaust the big room boxes, will slide over there to see what might be hidden.

Unfortunately those tri cards are not worth much unless there is a Magic or Bird (or preferably both) on them. With 3 players on a card a ton of the 80-81s have HOFers on them which pretty much makes them commons with rare exception like DR. J.

Makes sense - will have to keep an eye out and see what might be hiding in the boxes.
