Maury Wills in Long Beach

Maury was doing a signing earlier today and was amazing. I brought my 5 year old and he not only took photos with him, but pulled out a ball for a game of catch. Sigs were only $10 and I had him sign two balls for my sons.

That man could flat out play! One of the quickest players I ever saw. What I think is so amazing about his '62 season is not the fact that he increased his stolen base totals from the year before, from 35 to 104, but he decreased his caught stealing from 15 to 13. That's right, in '61 he was successfull just a smidge over 50% of the time when he stole a base. In '62 he increased that percentage to an 89% success rate. Game changer? Without a doubt. One of the most electrifying players in baseball history. Great success, Mike!
