That's just AWESOME !

But I'm left wondering why they would sell so many highly sought cards in such rare condition in just a couple of lots.

That was my original thought as well. At least Keith Olbermann only has to keep track of a couple of auctions instead of dozens!:)

My childhood was filled with dreams of finding long lost or forgotten stashes of cards. I remember at one point, I actually went door to door in and around my neighborhood asking if the homeowners has any old sports collectibles or memorabilia. No such luck! This was in the late 70s/early 80s, so my hope was to find old T-cards, Goudeys or Topps cards from the 50s-60s.

simply amazing. when will you ever find an old old lot of cards like that, with so many top names, in such beautiful condition!!

how did you happen to come across that tim?

cards now a days rarely get 10's. But a card printed 100 years ago does? What does that tell you about the companies nowadays..

Hey Paul....I know you are on facebook - click "like" on this page, and you will get updates like this almost every day. Rich Mueller has a knack for finding stories like this in even the most obscure newspapers, then he delivers links to those stories. It's a fun daily read.

Still boggles my mind how they could put all those cards into one auction. Just to start, there's a Honus Wagner PSA 9 in there. Insane !!!
