Hey guys, in December I bought a box of 2011 Certified and pulled a Jim Brown Mirror Gold Immortals relic/auto #25. Well I contacted Panini last week and asked them about it. They informed me that he wasn't going to sign so they could send me out a replacement. I told them that i'm a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan so they told me they would replace it with a card equal BV. Well today, my replacement card(s) came in!

With all due respect, you got ripped. A Brown auto #/25 is worth 10 times what you got from them. I know you are happy you got your team, but you didn't get value for value, IMO.

I have no idea who Cobb is (and I don't care enough to look him up), but I have to assume that I'd be right there with Boomer if I did. Brown is an immortal and his autos sell very strong. Lofton was a great, but nothing close to an icon like Brown.

However, if you are happy with it, then that is what should be important.

Look at it this way though, you can always take something of "equal" value and sell it to buy what you really want, so value should factor in at some point on a redemption replacement. I really wish that the manufacturers would have to cease and desist with redemptions until they can prove 100% delivery track record over time. The only excuse that should be acceptable is grave illness or sudden death on the part of the player involved (Like Stargell and Drysdale dying during the fulfillment period on signed cards), anything else is just false advertising and poor planning/execution on the part of the manufacturer.

The Brown books at $80. The Cobb books at $50 and the Lofton books at $20. So I only "lost" $10. Besides, if you want to get really technical, the Brown books at $0 because the card will not be made lol.

Personally i dont care for book value. If its a card that is sweet looking and my team or player I would be stoked!

You can look at it that way, for sure. I really think the fact that you got Packers is giving you tunnel vision though. Personally, I have to think that if you took all 3 cards, listed them on Ebay, the only one with any chance of selling for book value would be the Brown. Even if the Brown is never made, he has signed for them for other product, so why didn't they sub one of those sigs? It's all relative though, if you are happy, go with it.

Boomer, all I can say is...It's Panini. I don't think anyone will EVER understand the things they do lol. I was really hoping for a different Packer than Randall Cobb though honestly. I mean, they have Jennings, Driver, RODGERS, Hornung, Starr, etc. At least I didn't get Alex Green lol.
