Checking to see if anyone is doing anything with the redemption rings. I really have no clue what's going on. Have some to trade. Any help is appreciated. Butch

I'm assuming that you are talking about the virtual rings and not the actual diamond rings...
You get prizes when you have a certain # of unique virtual rings. At 5 you get a bonus ring and dig, 10 is a $10 gift card to shopp Topps, 15 is a custom skin it.
When you reach 45 unique virtual rings in your collection you can get the complete set of Topps Diamond parallels. When you reach 60 you can get a diamond ring.
So, you can trade the virtual rings to get a number of unique ones. I've met my goal of 45 unique rings because I wanted the set. I am not interested in the diamond ring.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. How hard is it to get the 45 unique rings?? Butch
We opened a 12 box case, numerous blasters, and other different packages of 2011 topps. My wife and I both still needed about 5 more rings each. Once we traded our duplicates we are both at about 51 unique each.
It appears that you're only 9 rings away from the diamond. Why not go for it?? Are all of the rings you and your wife have the same?? How can you trade?? Who do you trade with?? Butch
Hope you don't mind the questions....
No, our rings aren't the same. She may have only 1 of a ring that I need so she won't trade it. Also, I just figured that 60 unique rings would be incredibly difficult to obtain. As it is, we'd have to trade rings to attempt to get 9 more as we've pretty much stopped buying Series 1 (time for Series 2!!!)... I guess I could try though, but I don't think I have many duplicates that people need.
Since you need unique rings, you would only want to trade any duplicates. You can just go to trade-->your rings, then browse offers. You will only see offers for rings that you currently have. But make sure you double check that you have a dupe or it's pointless to trade. You can also make an offer. You can trade with anyone whose offer matches yours.
Are any of the rings short printed?? Maybe like one or two of a certain one so that they don't have many real rings to hand out. I suppose that getting the 45 rings for the set is expensive??
I apologize if I take the conversation in a different direction, but could you explain the wrapper redemption to me?
I also like the way in which Topps has set this up. The trading of rings and cards has been very easy.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Brad

Topps wants you to save your hobby wrappers — and this time they’re telling you in advance.
The arrival of 2011 Topps is just around the corner and the longest-running manufacturer of baseball cards is celebrating its 60th anniversary in countless ways.
One of them, announced Tuesday, is a wrapper redemption program for 2011 Topps Series 1.
Each collector who sends in 36 hobby wrappers or 10 HTA Jumbo wrappers of 2011 Topps Series 1 will receive in return a five-card pack of 60th Anniversary Black Diamond cards.
There are 60 cards in that set to chase, but what makes these packs even more diamond-worthy is that there will be 34 different autographed insert cards to be found — all signed on-card — showcasing players from the 1952 set. Each former player will sign 60 cards to be inserted into these packs. Among those players? Yogi Berra, Monte Irvin, Ralpha Branca and Joe Garagiola to name a few.
Collectors should send wrappers (before Aug. 1) to:

Mantle is almost impossible to obtain. He is the lone shortprint. The diamond ring that comes with getting ALL 60 rings is not really "diamond" at all. It is just a limited edition ring/60 with an estimated value of $200. I got this information by reading section C of the Official Rules on the diamondtopps site. To me, it is worth it to stop at 45 and take the set.

I agree - it was very easy to trade all my dups for everything except the Mantle ring. So I'm stopping as well at the set.
I received a Jerry Coleman auto /60 from the wrapper redemptions, so that was a bonus.
Series II comes out in about a week!

I have all rings except the Mantle. Wasn't difficult to trade my extras to get all the way to 59. Also got quick turnaround on the wrapper redemptions. After trades I am a handful away from the set.
