No I was talking about the 1990 Fleer. They are just so boring and plain looking. I actually did not mind the 1991 Fleer (which started this onversation) as at least it is unique looking. On the other hand the 1990 Donruss (aka The Red Devils) is unique looking too and I cannot stand that set. LOL
I liked 90 Donruss but that year coincided with my independence of riding bike to grocery store with my own money. I wanted the Juan Gone reverse negative so bad…
My first piece I'll start small... lol
One side for the 90's guys. Left open space for Aikman & Emmitt. Stepnoski made a rare appearance, he looked like Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam! No joke! Other side for the older guys. Again, left open space for Staubach and Pearson. Mr. Lilly had a tough time with his marker so we won't show that close up... I cleaned it up a bit.
Michael Irvin clowned on me for having painters tape with the players' names on it where I wanted them to sign so I wouldn't forget. He gave me much love though, as I was leaving behind the table he turned around and gave me another hand slap to say I'm just messin' with ya white boy! Next pic is Mark Stepnoski the rock star! And the other is Rayfield Wright. Biggest mits I ever seen! Sorry bout the fuzzy pics. My Dad was taking them and he hadn't had a drink in like 4 days so he had the shakes pretty bad by then.

It was amazing talking to those guys. Too Tall didn't say anything but the other guys were all down to earth. Emmitt was there but i couldn't get his auto on that trip. Bob Lilly put his SB ring on the table for us to look at and me being me I tried it on... it almost got stuck! Lol
Guess I'll keep going... Remember this guy?

Traded for the photo signed by Bob Lilly alone. Then sent the photo to Mr. Brown at his charity/foundation office in Cali. with a check made out to his charity. He very promptly returned the photo signed beautifully! I couldn't be happier with this piece and how it came to be...

The only guy I ever stood in line at a card show (or any other place for that matter) was Jim Brown! He retired just as I was watching pro football but his record speaks for itself.

Unfortunate news. I turned the helmet I showed off a while ago and noticed some of the autos are fading! Jay Novacek is almost gone. Irvin is pretty light now. Then I looked on the Old-Timers side and Mel Renfro is getting lighter, so is Bob Lilly. Nothing I can do to protect it, I assume it's from UV light, I can't afford a big display case. Should have got one when I got the helmet signed. What's worse is that I spared room for Emmitt and Troy to sign on one side and Staubach and Pearson to sign on the other side. Now it's pretty much pointless.
But back to the photo... I decided to take it out of the frame and put it in a binder with my other autograph photos. I don't want to risk either of those autos fading like the helmet.
So who wants to wager? Did Lilly bring him down or did Brown break the tackle?

I'm trying to figure out what year that picture was taken. If the Cowboy in the background is #68 then it probably is a defensive tacke named Guy Reese who played for Dallas in 1962 and 1963 where they played at Cleveland in November 0f 1963. It could be 1962 when they played at Cleveland in early September but this looks more like a late season game with the mud and the long sleeves.
While doing this all important research, I came across the amazing 1964 draft by the Cowboys. In the 2nd round they chose Hall of Famer Mel Renfro. In the 7th round they selected Hall of Famer Bob Hayes. And in the 10th round they selected some QB named Staubach. And in a real piece of trivia, in the 9th round they selected Cooper Kupp's grandfather, offensive guard Jake Kupp, who played over a decade in the NFl for various teams.
While most of you guys waste your time analyzing the goings on in the Middle East or debating the meaning of life, I research minor details of 1960s football. You guys are such losers! LMAO!!!!
