Question for you box breakers

Basically, is 2012 Topps Archives worth it? I am trying to decide if I am going to a show tomorrow, and the only reason would be to grab a box or two to bust. I did last years set and was mildly amused with it. IS this years offering worth $60 or $70 a box? How have your breaks been? Standard Topps or are there some decent hits making it out in packs?

If you get a good price. on the boxes..I would go for it....However, My box was not worth it and I won't getting anymore. I'll be waiting for the topps II coming out on June 6, 2012. Best regards, David

I really like this set. If you are a set collector Is say don't do it through buying boxes. But much like all other boxes the odds of pulling something equal or greater than the value of the box is against you. But I love the thrill of the break. I only have got 3 retail boxes and pulled a Bud Harrelson auto. For me I love it because it is loaded with Phillies cards. The autos from this set is ok. most go for around 10-15 bucks. But I love the look. The sp's will kill you and the SSP's will really destroy you if you are going for a complete set.
In the end. I say if you can get one for around 60 bucks go for it! But don't plan of doing the set.

should just about make a set of the first 200 out of 2 boxes. The sp's are about 6 per box and there are 40 of them. The ssp is harper at one per 10 cases or something like that.

I am mildly impressed with the new product. With that being said, I'd rather spend my $$ on 2012 Bowman Baseball. Just my opinion and 2¢ worth.

Bought my hobby box at $100 and was not thrilled with the hits but LOVE the set. Almost done with the base part. Still a ways to go on the SPs and not even contemplating the SSP. If you can do the box for $60/$70 that would be great and I think you will be happy.

I bought 3 blasters from Topps.com . Only 2012 product I have bought so far. Should be here in a day or two. I had a $10 gift card from the Diamond Giveaway, and if you bought $50 worth, you got free shipping. So I spent $49 on 3 blasters. Will post the results the day I open them. They were purchased on Thursday. I know that don't help with a decision for today, but good luck on whatever you choose.

Thanks everyone. I went to the show but kept my $$ in my pocket. I saw a box for $99. I think I'll take David's advice and wait for Topps II this week.
