I have a 1995 Select Certified Edition Cal Ripken, Jr. #2131 and I am wondering how to tell if it is the mirror gold card?

?

Okay, Cal's name and the Select '95 Certified Edition are in a gold or bronze metallic foil and when you tilt the card the background is metallic and shiny, but Cal's face is not. Nothing special about the back that I can see. Sorry if I sound ignorant, but obviously I am about this. This card was a gift and I am not familiar with its characteristics.

John

Should have gold or yellow background or text if its mirror gold

Is the Sky and background behind Cal's face a yellowish color? If so that would be the gold, The foil will be bronze regardless, but unless the background of the card is yellowish/Gold in tint then its just the regular version.

and the standard type,
1995 Select Certified #2131 Cal Ripken TRIB

your description does sound like the gold yes.

?

Thanks for the insight. The sky is blue. So, all the Select Certified are metallic or foil cards?

if you have a gold its almost going to look like a refractor over the whole card...otherwise its the regular issue. If you have a gold there is no mistaking it for the regular card...the entire card will glow under bright light.

reguilar card as opposed to the one in the link to the beckett site...
