wasn't this your exact concern last month with other Benchies making picks after the start of the first game...I find this pretty ironic...so according to what is in bold and red above in the contest rules, you should take a strike....

The great thing about this forum, is that I do not need your permission to give my opinion (you did post in a public forum BTW)....you are the one that decided on your own to "police" last months thread for this contest....you were the one that called people out on the timing of their picks last month because you are so worried about people cheating, you actually keep a spreadsheet of times that Benchies actually edit their post (WOW). Sounds like to me that you have some "control" issues....so remember that you are the one that opened the can of worms or made a mountain out of a mole hill....My goodness it's just a fun contest involving a few baseball cards made of cardboard, so just let it be just that...FUN. Nobody voted you "The Chief of other Benchies Contests"
There are a lot more pressing issues going on in life, than baseball cards...Get a Grip there big guy,,,

first , i'm going to apologize for my reply last night.....a really bad day and i uncharacteristically posted without cooling off first....
now , as for my trying to "police" the contest with a "spreadsheet of times" .....nope...my spreadsheet only lists players along with their daily picks...no times at all...i've always been a stats geek and i've always kept up with things like this....it's just what i do....not to mention it helps me keep up with all my own picks as well as helps me make my decisions on what player/team to pick on what day (i try not to follow the masses since a single 0-fer can lead to a strike for a large number of players) ....
as for my issues with who posts picks at what time vs my own issue...
i was up all night thursday and at 9 Am i came here to make my picks in both this contest and the three strikes contest....had browser tabs open for both contests along with a daily schedule for baseball....i posted my pics for both games in my spreadsheet then submitted my team pick at 9:04 AM....then i THOUGHT i edited my post in THIS contest thread as well at 9:05....left both tabs open and finally went to catch some shuteye around 10....came back to the computer at 4 to see the rest of the daily picks (actually there was only one player who hadn't made their picks earlier but i still wanted to add his pick to my sheets...)...i refreshed the tabs for both contests...everything was fine in the 3 strikes contest but my pick was missing here....that was why/when i posted my pick with my comment to katester.....it's his contest so i'd assume the final decision is up to him...should my pick count ? by strict interpretation of the rules , definitely not , but since virtually every other player in the past who made late picks WITHOUT noting it in their post was allowed to let the pick stand , it would not be a total stretch to think my first-ever late pick (for a game that was still 3 hours from first pitch) may be allowed...
before you say anything , yes , i know i have an issue with people making picks after the deadline...but my biggest beef with that is that virtually every month i've ever played , i'd see 2-3 people consistently post picks AFTER the deadline and without even mentioning the issue...once i can see..over and over ? the pattern speaks for itself...(in fact , i won't name names , but last month one player made his pick of a hitter DURING that player's game and that very same day one person actually posted a pick for a player a FULL HOUR AFTER THE GAME WAS OVER....really fair if you ask me - or even if you don't ask me)....
as for pressing issues in life , don't even get me started....i have several significant health problem and i no longer have a steady income....furthermore i am now faced with the likelihood of being homeless in the very near future...i moved into this house over 17 years ago with the knowledge it was substandard and i was afforded a rental rate that was commensurate with the condition of the property....my landord found out last fall he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and had to turn the business over to his family...they brought in an outside firm to take over....my rent was quickly raised and after yet another round of water damage due to a faulty AC unit , they decided to evict me so they could do a total renovation of the property (it's a slab house built in the 1940's...the sheetrock walls are so bad that there are numerous places you can poke your finger in the wall and it will go straight to the outside.....the waterlines leading to the city sewer system go UPHILL 2 feet...care to imagine my drainage issues ? ....you can stand by the back door and see the ground where the house has slid an inch and half off the foundation already).....they wanted me out in june but since they'd forced me to sign a new lease in january they relented and gave me til the end of the year to move so now after 17+ years in my current home i have to be out in less than 4 months....after weeks of searching , the only things in my budget are limited to section 8 or seniors over 62 and don't allow pets - i am 0-for-3 on that....the cheapest place i've found within 50 miles of my place would be an 80% increase over my current rent....thought i may have caught a break when i learned a relative had just lost a tenant...talked to him and learned the place was empty but wouldnt be ready for a while....3 weeks later i learned that he not only got it ready faster than expected , but that he also got a new tenant that same week....so once again , i'm broke and facing homelessness in 4 months....winning the prize this contest wouldn't change either of those facts (frankly i don't really care about the prize) but it WOULD be a nice lift just to have SOMETHING pleasant for a change....
ANYway , i didn't mean to jump on you or beachbum and i really didn't mean to post all my troubles here...i try to use this site and the games as a way to ESCAPE those problems for a few minutes....now i'm off to make my picks for today and then try to get some cards organized in hopes of making a few sales to put some food on the table for next week.....

I'm confused about the Pirate/Cub game...I had McCutchen for the 5th and he got a hit, does that not count? I do not have a cub or pirate for the 6th...can you elaborate?
