Not gonna rip this because it'll just be a regular sp mini, but if I trade/sell it, it should birth an Ohtani red ink auto!

Were you ever able to determine the Promo or No question on this card?Roger Staubach '79 Kiwanis Club Dallas Police

Well, I kinda figured that the guy that said all of them are technically promos is right. They weren't distributed in packs, or by a card company. They were regional issues, as you said. Plus neither Beckett or TCDb lists any promos for the cards. So I'm going with all are promos if you want to call them that, or regular "non-promo" if you want to call them that. Basically I think they're all the same... I see absolutely no difference in the cards I loked at... except the "Thousand Oaks" variation which I think is a neighborhood or region of Dallas... those are more rare than the others because "Thousand Oaks" is/was an exclusive area, if I'm not mistaken....Were you ever able to determine the Promo or No question on this card?
Oddball kissues like this are seriously undervalued.

Wow! That Thousand Oaks variation is really interesting and I'm sure fairly scarce. That Landry card from this set that you traded me is the non Thousand Oaks version. Still a very cool card nonetheless.Well, I kinda figured that the guy that said all of them are technically promos is right. They weren't distributed in packs, or by a card company. Ya, if Thousand Oaks is the area of Dallas I found on the map then it's definitely an affluent area. West Plano is known for high end living, and Thousand Oaks is right in the middle. I lived in North Plano for a while, and every now and then would go to that area. Great steakhouse called The Keg is over there... along with a Ferarri Dealership, Lamborghini Dealersip, and the low-end (by their standards) Porsche Dealership. The mall has valet parking. And it's just getting richer! If you look at a bigger map of the area they are building outwards to the NW, N, and some NE parts of Plano into Frisco and McKinney. I wouldn't be surprised if a modest house around that area goes for less than 5 mil. Were you ever able to determine the Promo or No question on this card?

I did hear that. You know how the "Hail Mary" got it's name??? Staubach has been quoted as saying that on that throw he pretty much threw the ball as far as he could and his momentum turned his body around and while he couldn't see where the ball was going he actually said a hail Mary to himself. The name stuck but I doubt any of the quarterbacks are quoting scripture anymore....Wow! That Thousand Oaks variation is really interesting and I'm sure fairly scarce. Speaking of Staubach did you hear that Sunday was the 50th Anniversary of the first Hail Mary in NFL history which was the Staubach to Pearson pass against the Vikings? I had no idea that was considered the first Hail Mary. And like the Chiefs/Dolphins Christmas Day game in 1971, I remember exactly where I was when this play occured, which was my Grandmother's house.
I swear my life is tracked by pro football games and vintage football cards. For many people it is music for me it was pro football.................not like I was hyper obsessed by it or anything. LMAO!!
I did not know the back story on that. I wonder if there were similar plays that were called something else before that?I did hear that. You know how the "Hail Mary" got it's name??? Very nice!! It had to have been terrifying being in front of him when he got through the first level like that photo.... I'd probably do my best bull fighter impression if I was expected to tackle him one on one!!Here's one for today! Happy New Year!

Mitchell Irving and Ray Lewis got more camera time at yesterday's Miami/Ohio State game than the actual guys playing the game did. Irving was out of his mind while Ray-Ray was much more restrained. I'm not a lip reader but I'm pretty sure I saw Lewis tell Mitchell to..............Starting this year with something a little different.....
