I absolutely love those 1990s Food Issue HOF autos and pick them up whenever I can. They are quite inexpensive which is a big plus. I don't have that particular one but have a bunch of other Nabscos and other similar issues.
What a great card! Was this a redemption? I can't imagine these put in a package of Oreo's...
Very cool!! Love the Obsidian line.
I'm pretty sure you had to buy them from an offer on the packages. I read an article on them recently and the price on them was quite inexpensive. I wish I was aware of them back then as I would have bought a ton of them. Jimmy Dean's was another company that came out with a similar HOF autograph offer. These food issue HOF autos are a great buy these days. What a great card! Was this a redemption? I can't imagine these put in a package of Oreo's...
Wasn't it something ridiculous like we 5 dollars and 2 proof of purchases? I remember getting the 94 Tombstone baseball set that way alsoI'm pretty sure you had to buy them from an offer on the packages. Ironically, I just received the Brooks Robinson auto from this very same set last week from a transaction here on The Bench.
From an article I read that was pretty much the price of them. If I had been aware of those, I'd be sitting on a pile of them these days. Right now, I just pick them up whenever I can. Man, they are inexpensive. I always say "Buy the autograph, not the card it is on".Wasn't it something ridiculous like we 5 dollars and 2 proof of purchases? This guy was one of the elite in the 90's... unfortunately for him he played for the 90's Raiders. When collecting I never looked at him as one of the guys that I had to have a card of. Luckily, though, he was paired on many cards with Michael Irvin so I do have some of his cards... sort of. Think I'll post a few in the coming days....Under $25 action......
