Actually I think blocks like that were legal back then. Can you read the begining of the last name on the Cardinal's lineman? I'm wondering if it was Conrad Dobler who was known as the dirtiest player in the game.

I just realized the other day that 3 of the 4 rookie cards of the Cowboys famous D-line of that era were all in 1976 Topps. Martin, Jones and White. Pretty perceptive for a card OG (Old Goat) like me. LMAO!!!
Keith Wortman possibly???

Here's one for today!

1980 Topps #170 Ottis Anderson RC

I gotta blame this guy for making one of my biggest card mistakes in my career. Ottis was a really good running back and looked like a sure shot Hall of Famer. I was at a card show in Syracuse in about 1982 or there abouts and a dealer had hundreds and hundreds of wax packs of 1980 Topps football, an unknown early 80s Topps hockey set (not the 79-80) and 1980-81 Topps basketball. He was selling the packs at 3 CENTS a piece! So i had enough money to buy all of one of the groups. Football cards were near valueless and hockey and basketball even worse.

SOOOOOOO, knowing that Ottis Anderson was an up and coming star I bought all of the 1980 Topps Football for 2 and a half CENTS a pack What I left behind was the equal number of basketball packs which ended up having the Bird/Magic rookie card in it. Oh the horrors.

I don't know how many 1980 packs I bought but it was easily 600-700. And to think how many Bird/Magic RCs I would have had if I went with the basketbal!. One of my two biggest card regrets right there only to be topped some years later by a tragic 1986/87 Fleer Basketball mistake.
