I was just drawn to this thing.....
I would have been drawn to it as well. What a bad boy he was. He lost his front four teeth on the opening kickoff agaisnt Ohio State while playing at Illinois and played the rest of the game after that, He was only first team all pro twice but was wnd team 5 times. In the era of the great middle linebackers, that is very impressive. Huff, Butkus, Schmidt and on and on and since there was only one MLB that means some great ones were left off the annual all pro teams.

Very nice! Sharp corners and pretty nice centering for that year/era of cards Cards from 1974-1980 are totally underappreciated.

Nearly 200 wins and 400 career saves for Eck. The only guy I can think of who had a similar career path going from workhorse starter to big time reliever and into the HOF was John Smoltz. Both were 20 game winners too which is illegal in today's game.

Time to dump the Skeens cards. Left the game today with 2/3 IP andcan ERA of 67.50. And only 37 pitches. O'Neil Cruz did help but it could start some rumbling...

Lets hope Miz can do a little better for the Crew.

Sounds like people screaming to bench DAK when he throws and interception.... lol

Miz was electric!

I have a feeling this one will just be passed over like over-cooked spinach.... so I'm going a little early. If I remember correctly, this girl was only 15 in her first Olympics, yet she was old-school... no goggles! A-la Mark Spitz. When I swam and my goggles would fill with water during a race I would have to quit. I couldn't see a thing! I broke 2 fingers swimming into the bulk head while doing back stroke before (outdoor 200-meter)... It was a windy day and the flags were altering our turn strokes, so I thought I had at least one more stroke till I had to flip turn... NOPE! But ya, that's what I thought of when my eyes were full of chlorinated water! Anyway... much respect to this swimmer! It takes a special swimmer to master the stroke, and to do it without goggles is just mind-boggling to me now!
