Modern baseball, You?? Is everything OK in Arkansas? LOL Your dad's scrapbook cards are 30ish years older than this card so I'm assuming the Manny is not one of those.

Funny how a 32 year old card is considerd modern while in 1992 a 32 year old card would correctly be considered vintage.
I wonder if part of that is because after about 1984 most collectors, myself included, stopped playing games with their cards i.e. flipping, bicycle spokes, building card houses and destroying them by throwing star wars figures at them pretending to be in a battle zone... so the "newer" product doesn't have the patina that the 40s, 50s, 60s and early to mid 70s have because kids stopped playing with them. Same goes for hot wheels, action figures, barbies...

so obviously a hall of famer - ridiculous it took him so long to get in.
he led the 1950's decade in HR. he was an RBI machine, 7 years in a row over 100. 8x all-star. 7x to the world series with 2 championships. i think it was that he fell short of 2000 hits that hurt him - but he also lost 2 years to military service during the war.

Wow! Are you getting this one graded? I see little, if any, chipping on this.

I think you told me a year or so ago that this particular card took a substantial jump in value. Am I rememering this correctly?
It took a nice jump a while back. bv is 60.00 No current plans to grade this one at this time though.

Happy Thanksgiving! Kinda bummed I do not have any specific cards for today, so recent mail day it is....
I wish I had a card of one of the Cowboys chowin down on a turkey leg from when they gave the player of the game a turkey. That was a Madden idea I'm sure. I think they still give a goofy trophy for player of the game... the "Galloping Gobler" i think.

I thought you had told me of that price jump on the '71 Fingers which seemed so random. Same holds true with the price jump on the 1978 Mike Schmidt you posted a pic of a few weeks ago where it went from $10 to $25 where most other superstar cards of that set remained the same.
