Look at his line in 1963 at the age of 42. 260 IP! 23-7 record. 2.60 ERA. Probably would have taken home the CYA, if not for a fellow named Koufax.

Spahn had the record for most wins after 30 with 255 until it was broken by Phil Niekro with 266. I knew about Spahn but had no idea Neikro had won even more after the age of 30!

Unbelievably, Wilhelm didn't make it to the bigs until he was 29. Pitched until he was 49. Saves weren't a thing back then, but finishing was. He finished something like 650 games.
