Now that is an awesome card! I love the oddball stuff because it is so much harder to find than the regular issue stuff. And unlike Topps from that year, they were able to use the Cowboy's logos.

Do you have any idea what this card books for? It seems when you come across these rarer, oddball items that the values are depressed because so many collectors hold these type issues in disdain. This kind of reminds me of the Carrolton Park Mall Cowboys set that I wished I had bought from the back of the Sporting News that we had spoken about recently.
Love the oddball stuff too! I got this and a few other Kiwanis Cowboys for about $10... no idea what it books for but they're great photos on larger cards. Might have to go after all of them!

Nice buy! I certainly would have made that purchase. Here is a checklist of that set which is loaded with huge names and even has 2 short prints!

I think the official name of these sets are "police sets" and different organizations (in this case Kiwanis) sponsor them. And they are criminally undervalued. I have a bunch of the 1989 Thurman Thomas Police card which correspnds to the year of his RCs. It is only worth about $5 last time I looked which is ridiculous. And in this cae the sponsor is Louis Rich Turkey Products which sounds hilarious!

That is a nice little set! Like I said, great photos. The Drew Pearson is amazing!

There's an oddball set similar to this which is the 1966 Royal Castle Miami Dolphins. I'm sure Jeff knows this set. No big stars. The cards are simply unfindable, and they book for $100-200 each! You would think these Cowboys would be in a similar range.

Happy to say I completed one of the small sets I've been working on... last card came in yesterday.

Congrats on completing that set. I can't even complete the base set with all their short print rookies! I've got both Mannings and both Moss's but those common rookies might as well be '52 Topps baseball high #s as far as I'm concerned.

I had never heard of that set before. THat would be an awesome set to have with its' organic scarcity. I can't figure many of those cards survived since sports collectibles were years away from being "a thing".

I looked up the checklist on that set and the players ranged from very famous (Bob Griese), guys known to vintage card collectors and old school football fans (Norm Evans), players more associted with other teams (Mel Branch-Chiefs) and a bunch of players I had never heard of. What an awesome collectable!!!

There are only 30 cards in the set so it wasn't a decades long build like some. I don't have the patience for that! I got the 2 big cards out of the way first (Elway/Manning & Rice/Moss)... then it wasn't too hard to find the others that I could afford.

It is an excersise in futility to try to complete a set if you don't have the main card or two unless you want open up your wallet big time. At least that is my rule.
