One of the many cool regional/food issues from "back in the day". Someone posted here those type issues are no longer or rarely being produced. BTW there is a Walter Payton disc in this set which corresponds to his 1976 Topps RC. And of particular interest to you there is also a Charley Taylor in this set.

Do you remember the value on this disc or was it an EBAY aquisition? THe value on these issues is often ridiculously low.

Feel like they are still out there (maybe not as prevalent, but still there). We had the UTZ baseball for a couple years. I think a Wal Mart pizza had cards. Would love to see a convenience store chain dip back into the discs again.

Yeah, I loved those 7-11 coins and cups. I think they stopped doing those coins in the early 90s and the cups in the late 70s. Glad to hear there re still a few food issues out there.

Man the Las time I remember seeing player cups was in 93. I was working at rhe Shopko store in Billings MT, and we had a Wal mart open across from us. One day I decided to check it out as I'd never been to one before and they had player cups for the icee machine. Snagged a Puckett one. One of my co workers who was a huge Twins fan went over later and was upset because she ended up getting Kelly Gruber instead of another Puckett.

LMAO! about Kelly Gruber!! That would be my luck although I need his 1991 Studio card to complete that set............one of my numerous one and dones. In this particular case I'd get a Puckett and not the Gruber!

THe cups I need to research are 7-11 cups from the late 70s. I need to get off my butt and start gettting this mess straightened out.

I probably had every single one that was ever produced - we had a 7-11 down the street from us and I loved slurpees!! For awhile McDonalds was doing cups with the olympic basketball teams - the last one standing in my house was a Thunder Dan Majerle version.

I think the only time I lived in an area with 7-11s when they had collectible items was when I lived in Lebanon in 1984. THere were 7-11s when I went to MSU but they didn't have any coins or cups. Upstate NY was never a stronghold for 7-11 even though Syracuse opened about 7 or 8 of them a few years ago before they all shut down. Again they were not offering any sports collectibles then. Only your area in PA had them and it was either 7-11 or Turkey Hill,

Great to learn about this stuff without having to search for info! I was kinda curious about it's authenticity but after reading this and actually researching it I'm confident it was a good buy. It was only 5 bucks on the bay... just typed in Cowboys Oddball and found it.

Yep, it's authentic all right. $5 is an absolute steal for a nearly 50 year old hofer's item like this. Here is a pic of one from TCDB to verify its authenticity.
