This discussion got me curious as to what Renata Galasso actually was so I did a little research. I have not been able to read the whole page but how this woman got started is truely astounding!!So they were a card dealer company that also made a few sets of their own on the side? Like the Card Collectors Company?
They were more like a mail order place.........I think I found them in Baseball Digest, actually.......I'd read that cover to cover each month......They just sold complete sets as far as I could tell.......So they were a card dealer company that also made a few sets of their own on the side? It was one of those "hot box"......box.....every card was a silly 1/1....not a fan of the term hot box.....also case hit and color match can go away....I believe I'm officially a grumpy old man!Leaf is king of the 1/1s. Lol
I don’t have single 1/1 to post, silly or otherwise
Made up language has always made me want to puke.........It was one of those "hot box"......box.....every card was a silly 1/1....not a fan of the term hot box.....also case hit and color match can go away....I believe I'm officially a grumpy old man!
My favorite is the 'eBay 1/1'Made up language has always made me want to puke.........
Along with Charley Taylor, Kerry Wood is also from my hometown of Grand Prairie, Texas!! A few years ahead of me in school but he was already a legend in GP...
I was going to mention that to you when you were trading for Charley Taylor cards a few months ago. When he hit the bigs, the hype around him was tremendous but I think injuries derailed what so many thought was a sure shot HOF career.Along with Charley Taylor, Kerry Wood is also from my hometown of Grand Prairie, Texas!! You definitely have to play the long game when collecting baseball cards, or so I would think as I dont really collect baseball other than Tris Speaker...I was going to mention that to you when you were trading for Charley Taylor cards a few months ago. Kerry Wood is a prime ecample of why it is not advisable to invest heavily in young pitching prospects cards. So many of these guys fall by the wayside most of the time due to arm injuries. Stephen Strasburg, Jacob DeGrom, Johan Santana and on and on, all had careers cut short or seriously interrupted due to injury. For all of you collectors chasing Paul Skenes cards, I'd proceed with caution because the track record of these guys having a long, HOF careers is not good..
