The owner had just bought a collection from a guy and then a couple weeks later same guy texted him and asked if he wanted to rip a 70s basketball box and a 73 baseball box. Dude paid 30+k for those two boxed. The only thing I kept thinking was I hope they were stored properly so the gum is a factor in the card conditions. My luck would be the Schmidt rookie would have the gum glued to it or a wax stain on the front

A card from back when the Vikings were actually the Vikings! You know, they played outdoors in the elements unlike today.
No worries, although between the Metrodome and the Bank there were 2 years outside at TCF Bank Stadium (University of MN) Went to one game one of those years on my birthday against the Rams and the Twins game a month before that was way colder!
They messed up the spelling of 'Refractor ' on one of mine. Had to send it back. Very annoying. It didn't take long to get it back, though...
Much like the 1969 Topps Mantle, this is George Blanda's retirement card as 1975 was his last year and he did not play the year this card came out. At age 48 in 1975 he became (and still is) the oldest active player in the NFL. Adam Vinitiari is 2nd, Michigan State's own Morton Andersen is 3rd and Tom Brady is 5th at age 44. Those runner ups would be called "Young whippersnappers" if Blanda were alive today.
Such an underrated player... should be in the HOF and Ring of Honor in Dallas. If the voters are anything like me they only remember him for one play... "The Catch". He was so far out of position he had no chance of making a play on the ball thrown to Clark. But... Montana threw the ball so high even Clark barely caught it. I doubt many DBs could have made a play on that throw. Still a great player that gets no respect, I tell ya.

Funny you mention that Everson Walls gets no respect because unlike now, I was following the NFL heavily back then and I always considered him a star. He led the league in Ints several times and was first team All Pro several times as well. As a matter of fact, I still store his RCs in with the rest of the 1982 Topps stars.
