Geez-aloo! and in 2006... crazy! I have a Sporting News Colnol Collection Tris Speaker card that's number 1222... not sure how they were broken down, but with Tris Speaker in it I suspect the set had tons of dead-ball era players and probably multiple cards of some players, plus managers... nowadays there are about 1,200 players in the entire MLB. I'd lose interest building that set after #200! Like doing one of those 1000 piece puzzles of gumballs.

Quite some time ago, I took a dislike to some of the Sportscenter hosts so I stopped watching. Kirbyfan's post also sums up my dislike for ESPN. But you don't like the "Next Gen Stats"? Good God they come up with some ridiculous stuff. Throw in the fact that ESPN became preachy and I doubt I'll ever come back outside of a stray football game here or there, At least they have Aikman as their NFL color guy because if it were Romo I'd have to block the channel. lol
Romodamus...? You don't like knowing the play before it happens? And yes, NEXT-GEN STATS annoy the living ish outta me! I don't know how many times I used to yell at the TV "What does that even mean?!?!" or "Who cares?!?!" And they all wanna be Stuart Scott... he was the only one that could add a quip during the clip and make it sound seamless. "Cool as the other side of the pillow" is classic. Now they just say the dumbest lines... might as well just say "And BOOM goes the dynamite!"

keeping with the random card theme, here is another head scratcher from Topps. Fred Breining had an ok career with the Giants and Expos. He was traded to Montreal in 1984 AND featured in the 84 update set. But as we see here he's picture for 85 Topps was airbrushed. Why? He pitched in 4 games in 84 so I would assume he got injured but still.Yankee Stadium or Polo Grounds? I was curious...
You can tell by the facade of the Upper Deck. I'm 99.9% sure it's Yankee stadium

Yep. The football Giants were out of the Polo Grounds by 1956. The Jets/Titans were in the Polo Grounds from1960 to 1965 or thereabouts.
The Billy Howton picture must have been taken in November of 1960 when the Cowboys played in Yankee Stadium where they ruined their perfect 0-10 record by tying the Giants 31-31, thereby ruining immortality with a perfect record.
Besides the Yankee Stadium backdrop I love the old Cowboys logo on the card! 1960s awesomeness right there!
I only need 4 cards for that 1961 Fleer Football set. 78 (Morrall, 112 (Joe Walton), 120 (Jimmy Orr RC), 171 (Cannon). Once I get those (if ever), only the 1965 Topps set remains incomplete.
So now they need to do a Winter Classic or Stadium Series game at Yankees Stadium so then we could potentially have a hockey card with the sane backdrop....now if we could only get the Nets or Knicks to play there too.
I'm going with serial killer as it looks like he has dead, emotionless eyes.

I remember talking to a fellow manager once in the office when I still worked at the casino in town. Our spouse's both loved watching Dateline and shows like that. So we talked about how if something were to happen how would we talk about it to Keith Morrison.
Been a bit since I have contributed anything (to this thread, to trades, or to this site!!!). Had lunch with a vendor today, they let me pick the location - I picked the diner right next door to my LCS so I could swing by and pickup some blasters of Update. While there, I finally broke down and picked up the gold foil SSSSSP 2023 Big League Rickey Henderson that has been in their display case forever. Do not see many of these in the wild, but will start picking up all the blues/reds/golds that I need to finish up 2023 and 2024 Big League. Including at the Philly Show in a couple weeks (while also searching for the remaining 1973 Topps that I need).
