I pulled this Heyward sparkle card out of 2011 Series 2 and when I was checking out others on ebay I realized that my card has TWO sparkles and all the others I have seen only have one (on the belt). If you notice my close up shot I didn't even realize the sparkle on the belt and focused on the wristband..

Anyone know what I have? Is this a variation of the sparkle variation?

Thanks! Rob

there is like 3 cards u need and you can win something big. but u need all 3 cards. i wouldnt posts scans of it just incase u need to have it later if u get the other 2 cards

here this may help
Just days after 2011 Topps Baseball Series 1 released, collectors discovered sparkle variations and feverishly tried to find them all. The 60 unique cards, which were a nod to the company’s Diamond Anniversary, put eagle-eyed collectors on full alert.

Now Topps announces that its just released Series 2 will “spark” collectors to continue the hunt.

The first collector to find the “Double Sparkle” cards of superstars Jason Heyward, Tim Lincecum and Evan Longoria will win a certified autographed bat signed by young stars Robinson Cano, Andre Ethier, Curtis Granderson, Russell Martin, Justin Morneau, Hanley Ramirez, BJ Upton, Justin Verlander, David Wright and Ryan Zimmerman.

To find out if you are the first to collect all three, click here

Thanks for all the info! Looks like this card will do best on ebay...either for a Heyward collector or someone trying to win the bat, which won't be me!

However, look at this info I saw:

Runners Up: Those Participants who find a bounty card(s) but do not win the grand prize will receive a limited-edition Major League Baseball collectors pin. To receive your pin, email us with a picture of yourself in physical possession of the card. You will receive one pin for every bounty card you find.

A pin? Really? Is that even worth the time to upload a picture and send an email?

Maybe I'll get some stuff together and list on ebay...I'll post a link here if I do, in case anyone is curious....

Thanks! Rob

Found this from the "baseballcardpedia.com" Series 2 checklist page.

"Mega case-breaker's Brent & Becca opened over 25 Hobby cases of Topps Series Two and found only one Double Sparkle -- a Tim Lincecum, which they sold on eBay for $225."

There you go. Solid advice. But feel free to draw your own conclusions from the evidence provided. :D

well id do the pin and email it and sell the pin. there are pin collectors AND it may be a special pin w/ each diff card. and the guy w/ the lincy may want the one for heyward. you never know w/ topps. good luck and pleas epost the auction id liek to watch it

I'd just sell the card and not worry about the pin. Also from the baseballcardpedia checklist:

"Randomly inserted into packs of Series Two are three "Double Sparkle" cards. The "Double Sparkle" is more like a giant, glowing, white dot in place of the normal, more subdued, flash. The first person to find all three cards can redeem them for an autographed Rawlings baseball bat signed by Robinson Cano, Andre Ethier, Curtis Granderson, Russell Martin, Justin Morneau, Hanley Ramirez, B.J. Upton, Justin Verlander, David Wright, and Ryan Zimmmerman."

I think most people who want the double sparkles are going for all three to get the autographed bat, rather than a pin. :)

ya but if all it takes is a picture? your not sending the card in to be replaced by a pin. free is free.... my 2 cents

Then there's the ultra rare "Milli-sparkle". Rendering the player all but unrecognizable, Topps seeks to re-create the feeling of a "red carpet awards show photo frenzy". Anyone finding this card will be asked "Okay...where'd you get that?"

Hahaha! Is that for real? If not, cool idea and photoshop job.

I'd hold the card until someone gets the other two. Then you have leverage, and the price increases. Why sell it on ebay for "x" amount, only to have the person who bought it for "x" from you get "X+Y" from the person that has the other two.

Hell, you should go for the three. You're already 1/3 of the way there. You'd probably get a little card-notoriety and an article on Beckett.

Nah...just me with too much time on my hands.

Like the rare 2011 Topps error variation card of #505 Tommy Hanson/Braves. It's not Tommy Hanson/Braves pictured but rather Joakim Soria/Royals. And it's number on back isn't 505 but rather #540!!!

My plan is to list it on ebay but I've always thought it's better for auctions to end on a weeknight as opposed to a weekend so I think I will list it on Tuesday...I know I could do a shorter auction but I think this one needs a week of exposure...I'll post the link here when it's listed...

I took a bunch of pictures of myself holding the card to send in for the pin. When I have some time I will find the goofiest one and send it to Topps. My thought is that if Topps uses these pictures for any marketing then mine wouldn't really be acceptable...plus it's also kind of a knock on Topps that ridiculous promotions are rewarded with ridiculous entries...

This is the text of my message:

Greetings Sparkle Bounty Prize People:

I pulled the Heyward double sparkle out of a box from my LCS...I have attached a picture of myself with the card, but I am really better looking in person. I just don't seem to photograph well.

Thanks for the swell contest! And, additional thanks for not making any double sparkles of the guys I collect...I already have a hard enough time with all the inserts, colors and serial numbered cards you produce!

Best Wishes,

Quite the wisenheimer, I know, I was feeling a little cheeky when I wrote it...
