Hi Melissa,
Believe it or not, I did not go to The National. I was planning on going but I had other things planned. I am starting to loose interest in card collecting and didn't want to fork out all the money just to get into The National. This is going to be my last year of trying to put the Topps Gold set together. I am just going to work on finishing the current sets I am working on (2001 thru 2014).
I will look over your want list and see if I can find anything that you need.
Ron
PS - How was The National? Sounds like you went.
Holy Moley, can't believe that you were so close and didn't go. I don't have that much control. There's talk that the powers that be are considering limiting the National locations to Chicago and Cleveland going forward. So, sounds like in the future if you are interested it will be back in Cleveland quite a bit.
It was a great show. So much to see and do. That place is huge. My knee is still reminding me of this. My mom always buys me a VIP pass so I can get in 30 minutes earlier than general admission. I can only tolerate 3 days until I think "Enough's enough". We (my hubby went with me for the first time) stayed at the Holiday Inn Cleveland Airport. Kind of a run down hotel but extremely nice staff and very convenient shuttle to and from the I-X Center.
There were tons of vintage dealers. I only collect modern day stuff and dealers with that kind of stuff were definitely in the minority. As a matter of fact, now that I think back there were only a handful of those dealers that actually had their cards divided by sport. So, that made looking for cards a long term prospect. The biggest buzz was the case breakers pavillion (and ok course LeBron and Johnny Football) so there was always a lot of commotion around the corporate area with people watching those and buying their own boxes to bust.
Anyway, enough of that please let me know what you find for me.
Take Care,
Melissa
